From student accommodation, hotel, and extended stay rooms to co-working facilities, meeting and event spaces, restaurants, bars, and gyms, The Social Hub offers a unique experience to its guests.
The Project.
Toolkits.
Working closely with both the F&B experience and Real Estate teams at The Social Hub, Auden embarked on several projects aimed at improving F&B efficiency and developing toolkits for seamless operations.
Our collaboration resulted in the creation of toolkits designed to support the Experience team in rolling out and refurbishing pipeline and existing properties. These toolkits were developed with a dual focus on design and operations, maximising ground-floor retail space by implementing modular formats in the back-of-house (BOH) design. This strategic approach increased efficiency and facilitated scalability and simplified workflows for the teams.
Additionally, our toolkits placed a strong emphasis on sustainability practices, aligning with The Social Hub's commitment to achieving Net Zero status by 2030. We introduced AI food waste monitoring, all-electric services, five types of waste segregation, and a de-waterer system that reduced waste volume. Moreover, the waste could be repurposed as bio-fuel to power the hotels.
Auden also developed operational toolkits with a specific focus on the Grab & Go concept. We curated the offer, established brand standards, created menu items, and sourced specialty items to elevate the overall F&B experience. This initiative transformed The Social Hub into a central hub for hotel guests and the student community, offering a wide range of enticing options.
Project Design.
Following the implementation of the toolkits, Auden's team started working closely with The Social Hub's Real Estate team to incorporate F&B service designs early in the project. By utilising our toolkits, our designers collaborate with the project teams to ensure optimal design efficiency. This early involvement helps prevent any disruptions or resource constraints that may arise from changes requested by the operations team during the later stages of the build process.
All parties involved have found this approach highly beneficial. It enables accurate calculation and provision of core services in advance and allows for easier adaptation of plans. The result is a well-optimised design that considers workflows, calculations, and operational efficiency, leading to maximum returns once the venue is open. Additionally, this approach minimises the need for retrofitting and sets up the team for success.
As a final step, Auden produces tender packs, which provide the project teams with comprehensive information for securing the best possible pricing. These packs allow for thorough diligence and ensure that the project teams have sufficient time and resources for a successful procurement process, with Auden's design experts available for support throughout.
Food Development.
Auden collaborated with The Social Hub Experience team to enhance their breakfast offering. Working alongside renowned chef Mark Greenaway, we developed a range of specialty breakfast items from which hotel Head Chefs could choose.
